- This monograph is the result of 2 years of full-time interdisciplinary research. The critical insights presented in the book required the collection, investigation and collation of a large body of material, spanning the language sciences and the cognitive sciences. This novel synthesis required the investigation of the effects of frequency in language in considerable depth and from different perspectives and integrated research findings from across disciplines.
