- Supported by the Royal Society Newton Mobility Grant and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, this collaborative study comprehensively investigated the effect of DC electrical field on a diffusion flame for the first time, using a combined experimental-computational approach. The study led to the development of a new combustion control device for micro-power systems using renewable fuel, which was recently submitted to the Guangdong science and technology award 2020 (in progress). It also led to further projects for the Chinese partner (ganyh@scut.edu.cn), funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Applied Basic Research Foundation of Guangdong Province.
