- In collaboration with University of Bologna and the international supplier KuhnerAG, this work was selected for presentation/publication at the 15th European Conference on Mixing, a leading event of 200+ worldwide. The first study to use advanced data processing to improve the design of shaken bioreactors. The approach has now become standard in the mixing community. This work is extremely relevant to emerging cell and gene therapies when microcarrier technology is employed for 3D culture in cancer therapies. The project was funded by EPSRC (Industrial Doctorate Centre, EP/G034656/1) and Khner. Led to award of the prestigious EPSRC Doctoral Fellowship (£150K, GRodriguez).
