- This paper was part of a broader research study funded by the Mexican Ministry for Education (SEP), the Iberoamerican States Organisation (OEI) and the Univerisidad Iberoamericana (UIA).
Together with other studies, this paper was part of the evidence that SEP used to formulate the Basic Education Holistic Reform (preschool, primary and secondary education) (RIEB) that aligned the curriculum of the three educational levels. The educational system has 4.5 million children in preschool education across the country, and the national curriculum means that the policy has had an impact on the whole population.
