- This work introduces a novel, mathematically sound algorithm for determining the actual DNA sequences of individual microbes in a community, when sequenced together. It provides the first computational tool capable of recovering haplotypes from metagenomes. Published in November 2020, the work was already cited while still in preprint form including in Nature Microbiology. Reasons for being cited includes it being utilised as a gold standard for comparison. Work done jointly with researchers from KU Leuven and Queen's. Bioinformatics is the leading outlet in the subject area.
