- This paper derives, for the first time, a family of spectral functions used in wireless communication theory that had previously only been solved numerically. It led to two granted patents (US8654907B2 ‘Data receiver with improved response to long and short term fading’ and US8654742B ‘Receiver with high performance channel estimation’). These techniques were applied to the development of wireless technology for set top box manufacturer Pace PLC, with Yorkshire Forward funding. It also enabled further collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (email on request) to apply the techniques to channel modelling.
