- Double-weighted statement
- The monograph is based on my PhD thesis, complemented by additional research over another five years. At over 100,000 words, the book represents the equivalent work of around 10 journal articles but, as a longer piece of sustained writing, it goes into greater analytical and contextual depth than would have been possible in those shorter pieces of writing. The book is based on engagement with thousands of primary sources across a range of media and is supported by an extensive bibliography of secondary material. The double-weighting of the book is therefore justified on these grounds.
