- This research investigated wastewater treatment of a hazardous and popular dye, widely used in the textile industry, by using a sustainable source, natural sunlight. The findings from this research are especially significant to wastewater treatment facilities located in countries with an abundance of natural sunlight and show that photocatalytic treatment of dye is a very promising route. This research provides analysis of suitable operating conditions and respective treatment efficiency based on various initial wastewater conditions. This allows the wastewater treatment industry to effectively optimise its operating conditions whilst harnessing natural sunlight to achieve the highest possible dye removal efficiency.
