- The paper reports on a proposed standard SBOL Visual for genetic engineering. The standard was developed in collaboration by multiple research groups and also representatives from the industry. Consequently, the paper has many co-authors who contributed to the development of this standard. SBOL Visual has been adopted by several software tools, e.g. Pigeon, a synthetic biology design visualizer (DOI:_x000D_
10.1021/sb400024s). SBOL Visual is used as interactive abstractions of genetic parts in a number of genetic design applications, including BioCompiler, Clotho (doi: 10.1016/B978-0-12-385120-8.00005-X), DeviceEditor, GenoCAD (doi.org/10.1093/nar/gkp361).
