- This research project was funded by EMPA-Switzerland as an invited secondment, for the first author, to lead this project. The full-scale fire testing was carried out at the Fire Laboratory of EMPA, with collaboration with industrial partners Knauf Gips KG, Germany (Hummel.Hans-Ulrich@knauf.de). This article informed the practice of fire engineering practitioners (a.allam@cundall.com) and research efforts in Japan (yositake@yamaguchi-u.ac.jp) and Australia (V.Vimonsatit@curtin.edu.au). The article led to further research collaboration in relation to integrity fire resistance of doors and walls assemblies with Curtin University (Australia), Yamaguchi University (Japan) and industrial partners (Nassif et al., Fire and Mater 40:8:1070-1089 (2016)).
