- This article reports a remarkably effective and unconventional approach for the selective deposition of copper and silver to form metal patterns. This method is scalable to any area; is fast because compatible with continuous roll-to-roll printing and thermal evaporation; avoids metal waste and the use of harmful etchants; leaves the metal surface uncontaminated. Its power is demonstrated in semi-transparent organic solar-vcells, but it can be exploited in a broad range of applications, e.g. electronics, flexible and stretchable transparent electrodes biological/chemical sensors. This article has featured on >20 international popular press news websites including The Engineer, ScienceDaily and Environmental News Network.
