- This research contained the result of an extensive study which explained the mechanisms in which solid crystals fragment during casting processes. The work was the first to clarify the role of electromagnetic stirring and indicate the way in which the phenomenon could be exploited in casting manufacturing processes for grain refinement and associated property enhancement.
