- Wikis can help assess "soft skills" beyond the core knowledge imparted in a technical module: however, wiki-based assessments are difficult to set up in a meaningful and efficient way. This paper is significant because it reviews a variety of both positive and negative experiences with wiki-based assessments, and offers a range of recommendations to ensure that a wiki-based assessment is successful. It also provides evidence on the level of resources typically needed to successfully run a wiki-based assessment.
