- This paper reports the first demand response management scheme for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) systems, an increasingly important topic, where surplus electricity within electric vehicles is supplied to the grid. Its significance lies in the novel incentivized auction-based group selling approach which significantly reduces system cost, improves electricity utilization and motivates vehicles to participate in V2G demand management. This work led to a Royal Society Research Grant (RG140697) on novel power communication converters for DC microgrids and a H2020 grant (GBP 1.2 million, COSAFE#824092). The work underpinned additional publications (DOI: 10.1109/TSG.2016.2613546) and was widely followed by international groups (e.g. 10.1109/TSG.2018.2789940 and 10.1109/TII.2017.2776241)
