- Inspection (Maida Vale Project) is a 40-minute piece composed by Florian Hecker for multi-channel surround sound. It was commissioned by BBC Radio 3 for its celebrations marking 70 years of Radio 3.
The piece was presented in a live edition of Radio 3’s Hear and Now, broadcast from the Maida Vale Studio on 3 December 2016. This was the BBC’s first ever live binaural broadcast, marking a major step forward
for the organisation.
Further performances of the piece were at Andquestionmark, an artist-run space in Stockholm, 16 March 2017, 6–9pm and Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21), Vienna, 14 July 2017.
An extended version of the work, Inspection II, was published as a CD release in 2019 by Editions Mego, in an edition of 600.
