- This work examines the use of nanocellulose as a reinforcement in alginate hydrogels under different processing conditions. This paper is significant because it established faster, low energy methodologies for making nanocellulose reinforced conjugates. This has informed work completed since, using seaweed nanocellulose as a reinforcement in gel padding and impact resistant materials, which is the subject of two current grant proposals.
