- I lead the activity to verify and validate results from the inspiral pipeline and waveform template bank used for this detection. I worked closely with the pipeline developers and the paper writing team to verify the detection results reported in the paper and carried out investigations into early discrepancies. Further work addressed the robustness of the background rate and detection significance, possible sources of artefacts, variations of the detector noise around the event time, assessment of the false alarm rate probabilities and checking the signal-to noise ratio and misfit values were within expectations, signing-off these parameters for the collaboration.
