- Afterimages: Cinema Women and Changing Times (2019) represents a turning point in my thought. The book consists an introduction and three sections (eleven chapters), developed over ten years of lectures, seminars and essays. The first section of the book concludes my work on the image of woman as cinematic spectacle; in a new departure, the second section analyses films made by women about motherhood; third section continues my previous work on avant-garde aesthetics and film technology through artists’ work with gallery installations. Discussing the cinematic representation of time runs through the whole book as a theoretical link across its sections.
