- This paper reported a robust analytical methodology using ionic liquids. The research resulted from a collaborative EU FP7 funded RSES "IBS Network" between Keele and Clark University, USA. It also forged close collaborations with Schazmann from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), which led to the submission of an EU Patent application (14184047.0) prior to the paper being published. The work was also supported via ERASMUS exchanges and contributed to the training at Keele of two Dublin-based EU undergraduate students on techniques for polymer synthesis and electrochemical characterization and has since led to at least one ECR visiting Keele each year.
