- Reports a novel mesh-adaptive model algorithm for porous media flows that was funded by the Qatar Carbonate and Carbon Storage Research Centre and EPSRC (EP/I006265/1, EP/I003002/1). Result of collaborative work between groups from Universities of Aberdeen, New South Wales and Imperial College. The outcomes have led to research in optimal exploitation of coal and HPHT O&G reservoirs. The model algorithm has been accounted for in over 30 follow-up studies (gas coal gasification, optimal well-design, flow instabilities, among others).
