- Reports novel method for indexing and querying heterogeneous data structures, implemented in the widely used GATE open-source R&D libraries. Used in commercial contexts including the Financial Times, NHS, BBC News and Sports sites where it made “a huge improvement to the quality of the site that wouldn’t have been possible without GATE” (contact: former CTO of Dow Jones, TalkTalk, FT, Press Association, BBC; Professor of Psychiatric Epidemiology & Clinical Informatics Stewart at NHS/KCL). Formed the basis of follow-on research including EPSRC's GATE Cloud Exploratory (https://gow.epsrc.ukri.org/NGBOViewGrant.aspx?GrantRef=EP/I034092/1) and the EC's AnnoMarket projects (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/296322).
