- This sole-authored monograph (85,000 words) is the first extended analysis of Miller’s work from art theoretical perspectives, exploring many previously unpublished and lesser-known photographs. Based on 5 years of research into archival material and primary sources (including at the Beinecke Library, New York Public Library, and Lee Miller archives), the book offers new insights into the nature of Miller’s modernism and her contribution to photography, surrealism, and post-war exhibition curation. The book features 80 illustrations, approximately 20 of which were published for the first time.
