- First report of the semiconductor quantum dot with large non-linear response to light at the single photon level enabling a “single photon optical switch”. The work has inspired continuation studies (e.g. 10.1038/nnano.2017.85, 10.1038/s41565-018-0091-5 and 10.1038/srep45582). The work led to invited presentations at 3 international conferences by Dr Bennett; International Conference on Quantum Dots 2016, Korea (https://www.edinst.com/events/9th-international-conference-quantum-dots-south-korea-may-22-27/) Non-linear Optics of Excitons in Dortmund, Germany 2016 (https://www.noeks13.tu-dortmund.de/cms/en/invited-speakers/index.html) and Optics of Excitons in Confined Systems, Bath, UK 2017 (http://oecs2017.iopconfs.org/speakers).
