- The Chapter is drawn from my conference paper on Social Innovation – “If you Treasure it, Measure it” Wolfson College, University of Oxford, (7th July 2016). The aim of the research was to explore a social innovation model of health/social care with the primary outcome mapping out a framework for wellbeing.
The research began with the question:
“In what ways can the idea of social value be embedded into the fabric of the Social Enterprise model of service delivery in the field of Health and Social Care?”
The research drew on an analysis of direct personal/professional experience and illustrates how social value – as distinct from services alone – can be exchanged across the health/social care ecosystem.
Silicon Health Valley for Greenwich (January 2016) The chapter led to a collaboration between Ravensbourne University, University of Greenwich and Loughborough University to pilot a preventative healthcare model as part of the Smart City regeneration for Greenwich. The project received HEFCE funding (£14,600) and tested ways that universities can identify preventative health care service systems (PSS) through community networks.
Innovation in Excellence Award, Stationers Company (April 2016). The Chapter led to this Award being received, specifically for the way in which the action research can allow a university to act as a catalyst for social Innovation in South East London.
The Chapter output draws on design practice and social innovation models relating to ways in which organisations can embed wellbeing into an organisational cultures. Unlike my other REF submission, the Chapter focuses solely on the Health and Social Care sector. My other REF submissions focus on the Higher Education sector and the way in which new quality standards and measures can be introduced into an HE setting around student wellbeing, levels of prosocial behaviour and financial capabilities.
