- Additional information
- Chapters 3, 6, 7 and 10 are adaptations of work published prior to 2014, which have been revised in the light of the scheme described in the Conclusion. The assessment should focus on chapters 1, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12 and 13, all of which have been published since 2014. The book as a whole challenges Muslim and non-Muslim views of the Qur’an, which were based on atomistic interpretation, insufficient attention to context, and failure to examine closely the actual Arabic text of the Qur’an rather than restating traditional views.
