- Double-weighted statement
- The book is an original monograph of circa. 100, 000 words based on over five years’ research in French archives and libraries. Sources included police reports, private papers, ministerial documents, the press, the records of political groups, and printed primary source such as memoirs, drawn from a twenty-year period. The book is the first to conduct substantial empirical research into the phenomenon of violence in interwar French and it challenges the academic consensus on the subject.
