- <20> This is the first study to show that online social networks used by older people may lead to higher life quality. The results form new knowledge useful for policy makers and designers of digital interventions for older people. As such, it has been cited in follow-on research (10.1016/j.jad.2020.04.022) showing lessening depression with increased Internet usage in a study of around 20K older people. The work also informed the HSC InspireD reminiscence app design (www.theinspiredapp.com) (Soo Hun, Health and Social Care Northern Ireland, Soo.Hun@hscni.net).
