- This book is the first examination of Cornwall’s screen history and is the culmination of a ten-year project, combining close textual analysis with substantial archival research. The historical span of this work (1903 to the present day) required identification, location, access to and examination of an enormous body of archival texts, both moving image and paper documents. These primary materials range across theatrically-released films, amateur filmmaking, newsreels, television programmes, production documents, filmmaker archives and personal documents, GWR archives and pressbooks. The extensive synchronic and diachronic historiographic investigation is utilised to create an in-depth study of the screen history of Cornwall.
