- This work improved the understanding of adhesively bonded external patch repair of damaged glass/epoxy composites - a key step forward for understanding residual strength and damage modes of repaired recycled composites. Preliminary work was undertaken through a project funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, India/China award for joint academic research between the University of Southampton (UoS) and Anna University (AU), India. Dr Arumugam from AU, visited UoS from 01/12/2011 to 25/05/2012. During this period, Dr Arumugam (arumugam.mitaero@gmail.com) also visited the University of Portsmouth (UoP). The current interdisciplinary paper is collaborative research work undertaken between UoP, AU and UoS.
