- A prior BBSRC project with Manchester University, TRFD1 (BB/N02107X/1), led to a proof-of-concept award (RIS 2848592) from PhenomUK on behalf of the BBSRC, to realise a low-cost adaptive 3D multi-scale imaging device for phenotyping. The 3D acquisition add-on rig is undergoing trials measuring lifetime plant growth on the advanced plant phenotyping PSI (Photon Systems Instruments) system at the National Plant Phenomics Centre (NPPC) at Aberystwyth University. The rig was also installed at Edinburgh University, leading to new funded collaboration, BBSRC - TRFD1 (BB/N02334X/1), using photometric stereo for capturing real-time 3D responses to vegetation dense environments.
