- This book presents a critical assessment and re-conceptualization of human capital theory. It required an extended, detailed, and complex analysis of existing theory and evidence relating to one of the most important education, economic and policy concepts of decades. To substantiate our analysis we conducted a robust in-depth secondary analysis of education and wages over a forty-year period. We also spent several years engaged in the major intellectual and creative challenge of developing a revised theory of human capital.
