- Numeric entry errors are common and costly; for medical instruments this is especially critical. This paper is significant in that it offers a practical approach to addressing these problems early in the design process. The Monte Carlo approach both assesses the potential vulnerability of a design and also identifies the aspects causing problems. In the medical domain where this work is targeted, this means saving lives. This paper is part of a body of work that has led to an impact case study reaching many thousands of clinicians and other medical professionals.
