- This paper successfully addresses the data imbalance issue across different ethnic groups for 3D face modelling and reconstruction. The work brings many insightful ideas to the community. We also proposed a new publicly available 3D face dataset that is used by other researchers. We organised the workshop on dense 3D reconstruction of 2D face images in the wild at the 13th IEEE Conference on Automatic Face & Gesture Recognition, by using the proposed dataset jointly with the Stirling 3D face dataset. So far, we have received many requests for the dataset for the evaluation of a 3D face reconstruction algorithm.
