- Double-weighted statement
- This book merits double-weighting for two reasons. As a 300pp monograph, it demonstrates ‘sustained research effort.’ The book is an institutional history which places its subject matter into a number of wider, complex contexts such as imperial history, the history of minorities, intellectual history, and the history of nationalism; as such it constitutes ‘the investigation of a given theme in considerable depth, from different perspectives, and/or in relation to different contexts.’ It draws on collections held in nineteen different archives.
