- Double-weighted statement
- This work comprises the first full sociolinguistic study of Catalan in France, shedding new light on language attitudes, phonetic variation, language ideologies and minority rights. This piece satisfies the criteria for double-weighting, as it necessitated the generation of a complex dataset, obtained from fieldwork in rural France. The critical conclusions are informed by a range of experimental approaches, and are the result of a long period of data collection and analysis. Combining language attitudes, sociophonetics, discourse studies and language policy, the book provides an invaluable reference for scholars of French and Catalan studies and minority languages around the world.
