- As part of a long term programme investigating the behaviour of concrete structures reinforced with hybrid steel-FRP reinforcement, this study, a first of its kind, focuses on hybrid reinforced concrete continuous T‐beams. It differs from previous studies in that it examines realistic statically indeterminate T-beams rather than simply-supported rectangular ones. It assesses the moment redistribution and ductility of hybrid reinforced concrete structures through laboratory experiments. There are currently no design provisions in the Eurocodes for concrete structures reinforced with FRP or hybrid FRP/steel reinforcement and hence the findings of this research will contribute to future development of the codes.
