- This reference paper describes the University of Sussex-Huawei Locomotion and Transportation dataset. It contains 7-month of annotated data collected in the UK and London which we released publicly at www.shl-dataset.org. It enables the mobile computing communities to develop algorithms for the recognition of modes of transportation and locomotion from mobile phone sensors. This dataset has been used by Huawei for develop bandwidth optimisation algorithms based on the user transportation mode. It led to patent PCT/EP2018/085809. This dataset has also used by more than 201 scientists in three data science challenges we organised at Ubicomp/ISWC conference in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
