- This monograph is an in-depth investigation into the institutions that plan and execute policies countering organised crime in Chile. It develops a theoretical framework to explore the country's efforts to keep national and transnational organised crime at bay following the return to democracy in 1990. Thematically, it surveys the successes and failures of battling drug trafficking, money laundering and human trafficking. The empirical material is based on interviews with government officials and public officers in the fields of policing and national security, financial intelligence, prosecution and the judiciary. The is timely and combines the subjects of public policy and criminology.
