- The research was supported by the BP/The Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative via the Gulf Integrated Spill Research Consortium (https://data.gulfresearchinitiative.org/pelagos-symfony/data/R1.x137.108:0002) in order to tackle oil spills, following the Deep Water Horizon catastrophe. The new model has been implemented in open-source code Hydro3d being used for various hydraulic flow problems. This research has led to three further research grants from EPSRC for plume and jet (£341,314, EP/R042640/1), open-channel flows (£410,620, EP/R022135/1) and pipe flows (£371,330, EP/S016376/1).
