- This 80,000 word peer-reviewed monograph is the culmination of a five year research project and for the first time brings together a critical and interdisciplinary analysis of the work of five contemporary intellectuals who have made a significant impact on the ways in which Islam and secularism are debated in the French public sphere. It also rigorously engages with a wide spectrum of materials and debates from fields as diverse as Francophone postcolonial Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Philosophy and Religious Studies.
