- Kolb was PI of the PIRATE facility used in this study. Kolb conceived the concept of the facility, secured funding for it, oversaw its installation and led its operation and further development since installation. Kolb Identified EL CVn -type binaries as scientific targets with merit for PIRATE observations and facilitated the collaboration with the first author. Kolb trained and supervised co-authors, including OU alumni Faillace, Owen and Smith who conducted the PIRATE observing campaign and data analysis. Kolb provided review and critical comments on the manuscript.
