- It is the first that addresses the Destination Advertisement Object (DAO) attacks in the recently standardised internet of things protocol (RPL), mitigating the effect of DAO insider attack on the performance of RPL’s IoT networks. The study (in collaboration with University of Glasgow) facilitates solid enhancements for the standardised RPL. It provided background evidence to obtain funding for £4M EPSRC grant “COG-MHEAR EP/T021063/1”. It opened up new promising horizons towards efficient lightweight security solutions in IoT and led to subsequent publications10.1109/JIOT.2021.3050732 and 10.1109/ACCESS.2020.2977476. It led to Ghaleb being invited to chair a track in the International Conference (ICETIS 2021).
