- This is a significant contribution to the literature. This research based monograph is based upon an extensive four year longitudinal research project which has only been done once before in the UK in the 1990s. It documents this unique contribution to the existing literature on policing cultures whilst also providing a comprehensive account of the policing cultures literature across the world since the area became of interest to the academic community in the 1960s. The research has also had a considerable impact on the way in which the police are utilising their tutor constables in forces.
