- In this publication, we investigate the processing capability of compute clusters as an edge compute device and quantify compute power against electrical power consumption. This is significant as edge compute devices are becoming more mainstream, but edge clusters are almost non-existent. A novel power distribution technique and commodity node hardware demonstrate that edge compute clusters are a viable low-cost option. This research has been incorporated into an applied work package as part of an ESA proposal (currently under review).
