- This paper describes a fuzzy logic-based method developed to measure the degree of lean activity within the Indonesia manufacturing industry. The fuzzy logic-based system, incorporating “crisp” and “fuzzy” measures and combining multiple experts’ judgements, was applied to data from industry (51 samples). After publication, the outcomes were disseminated to the companies that participated in this research and has influenced some practices within the manufacturing industry (anitasusilawati@yahoo.com). The research has also resulted in the development of research in Fuzzy AHP (KnE Engineering, V2016). The research resulted in the initiation of lean manufacturing research in the University of Riau, Indonesia.
