- In this submission the well-established Greenfield-Chiclana Collapsing Defuzzifier algorithm is extended in its application from interval type-2 fuzzy sets to generalised type-2 fuzzy sets, giving rise to the Generalised Greenfield-Chiclana Collapsing Defuzzifier (GGCCD). A significant academic contribution of this paper is to advance the mathematics of type-2 fuzzy logic. Experiments reported on in the paper show the GGCCD to be fast and accurate, comparing well with another leading approach to generalised type-2 defuzzification. This gives developers of generalised type-2 Fuzzy Inferencing Systems another option to choose from for the defuzzification stage.
