- This work highlights the key design parameters to develop efficient THz photomixers integrated with antenna using the photodetector developed by C Renaud (Patent 2006). This work has now inspired developments internationally at the University of Virginia (IEEE TMTT vol. 66, p . 1668, 2018), HHI -Germany- and Japan (both 10.1007/s10762-019-00638-5), Beijing (10.1109/IEEE-IWS.2018.8400833) Taiwan (10.1109/IPCon.2018.8527215). This has also led to new research grants (EU PI £356k, EPSRC grant PI £500k, Marie Curie ITN PI £400k) as well as a collaboration with NPL and JLR to develop future technology for autonomous vehicles (EU Grant submission June 2020, PI £550k).
