- This paper presents a modified finite strip method for investigating the buckling behaviour of partially protected thin-walled steel columns under fire. The work is significant because it extends the application of the finite strip method to buckling analysis of thin-walled structures subjected to non-uniform temperatures. Adopting the finite strip method is more practical to apply and hence more economical for use in industry by designers.
