- As research areas were building up around the then recent concept of big data, this work, published in one of the leading related journals, was amongst the first to define an architecture for building timing predictable large-scale data processing systems, and so it has since become the basis for a number of works in the real-time big data community (Lv et al UCL, Zheng et al Georgia State, Persico et al Naples).
