- This collaboration with Professor P. Withers (University of Manchester), funded by EPSRC (EP/F007906, EP/I02249X) and Marriott Trust (Rotary Club, Bolton Le Moors), produced another output from our research into auxetic foams for sports and healthcare. Forming a major component of the successful PhD completion by co-author Dr M. Sanami, the work contributed to the knowledge base leading to consultancies with Nike (foam product, 2015), BASF (foam processing, 2015 & 2016) and Babolat (foam product, 2017), research assistant projects with Sheffield Children’s Hospital (foam scaffolds, 2016 & 2017) and a co-funded VC scholarship (PhD) with Pioneer Healthcare Ltd (tissue engineering, 2018-present).
